The festival aims to be an outstanding annual event that revives and maintains the traditions of folk culture of regions of Russia as well as takes part in the development of modern trends and directions integrated into folk art.

The festival organization shall contribute to the mutual enrichment of cultures, the harmonization of interethnic relations and the ones between nations as well as the strengthening of friendly relations between people of Russia.

The festival is spectacular and entertainment event, operational exhibition ground and large-scale cultural action, too, addressed to a modern audience, including young people.

The Ministry of culture invites all subjects of Russian Federation to take part in the first Russian festival and exhibition of folk culture.

Each region of Russia may present its folklore and folklore-ethnographic groups at the festival – authentic groups and individual performers (carriers) of authentic folk tradition, children and youth folklore groups, masters of traditional crafts and decorative-applied arts and crafts from region, national traditional cuisine.

During the festival discussion and presentation round tables will be organized where the main issues of folk art development in this country will be tackled, an exchange of creative ideas aimed at strengthening cultural ties between the regions will take place, touring routes of performing groups from various regions will be discussed as well as joint projects in the field of folk art. The presentation of already developed interregional cultural projects will be held, too.

The show programme of the festival will be intensive: on November 3 a concert of art groups and soloists – the winners of All-Russia festival of folk arts "Together we are Russia" – will take place, on November 4, at National Day of Unity, a gala concert is going to be staged.
